My interest in social interactions, bias, and misjudgments has been a dominant source from which content has been obtained. "You Ass" is a project based around a satirical novel that directly addresses these issues, based on publicly generated content. I devised a system of data gathering that consists of both formal and informal variables in the form of discussions online, interpersonal interactions, and ballot box submissions. As a designer, I am interested in exposing the nature of social interaction and its pratfalls. I accomplish this through the lens of a public systems project. By employing humor, the project allows the audience to examine their behavior through a critical scope. My influences for "You Ass" come from many different disciplines of creative expression, including photography, performance, multimedia, creative writing, and visual communication. The action of collecting and editing the content has been a critical part of my methodology, and the next steps for "You Ass," are to continue disseminating this content.
